Dubai to Riyadh by Bus: A Step-by-Step Guide for First-Timers

Before anything else: check your documents

Start with your paperwork, because that is what the border checks. You need a passport and, for most nationalities, a valid Saudi visa or a Saudi residence permit (iqama). GCC citizens can travel with their national ID card. If you live in the UAE, take your Emirates ID too.

Saudi entry rules depend on your nationality and can change, so confirm yours with the official Saudi visa platform or a Saudi embassy before you pay for a ticket. Our team can talk you through what you have when you book.

Step one: book your seat

Search Dubai to Riyadh on beladelsham.com or in the Belad Al Sham app (iOS and Android) to see the departures available for your date. Pay by card and your e-ticket with a QR code arrives straight away.

Prefer to talk to someone? Message us on WhatsApp or visit any of our offices in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman or Abu Dhabi. At an office you can pay by card, or reserve your seat and pay cash before the payment deadline shown on your booking. Fares depend on the date and ticket type, and you always see the full amount before paying.

Step two: pack for a long road trip

Your ticket includes a luggage allowance in the coach's hold; if you have extra or bulky items, mention them when you book. Pack your hold bag neatly, because customs may inspect it at the border.

In a small bag with you, keep your passport, visa or ID, your phone and a charger or power bank, any medication, water, snacks and a light jacket for the air-conditioning. Never carry bags or parcels for other people.

Step three: board at one of our offices

In Dubai, Riyadh coaches board at our head office in Al Murar, Deira, on Al Khaleej Road. If Sharjah or Abu Dhabi is closer, you can board at our Al Soor office in Sharjah or our New Shahamah office in Abu Dhabi instead. Our Ajman office sells tickets, but Riyadh coaches do not board there.

Arrive early with your QR e-ticket open. Our team checks your documents before boarding and your luggage goes into the hold. We board passengers only at our offices, never at malls, roundabouts or home addresses.

Step four: the border crossing

On the way, the coach crosses the UAE–Saudi land border. You complete UAE exit formalities, then Saudi entry formalities, and customs inspects luggage. Time at the border varies, so stay patient and follow the driver's guidance.

Step five: arriving in Riyadh

The coach arrives at the SAT station in Al Aziziyah, Riyadh. Collect your hold luggage, check you have everything, and continue to your address by taxi or a ride-hailing app. Having roaming switched on, or a Saudi SIM ready, makes this much easier.

Before you leave Dubai, share the live tracking link from your e-ticket with whoever is meeting you, so they can follow the coach and reach the station at the right moment.
